Qualifications: Certified with Administrator Certificate, School Building Leader (SBL) or equivalent (SAS/SDA).  Preferred 5 years teaching or administrative experience at the High School level. Bilingual candidates encouraged to apply.

The successful candidate for this Assistant Principal position is one who will promote the educational development of each student through the application of exemplary leadership, supervisory, and management skills.

Position Summary: The candidate should be able to demonstrate:

 

Ability to comply with all State Mandates related to all school functions

 

Strong computer literacy and ability to troubleshoot tech issues including the support of instructional technical support (ie School Tool, Chromebooks, iReady, Google Classroom etc)

 

Knowledge, experience and/or training in the daily management and operations of a school building including student management systems, master scheduling, and safety protocols;

 

Solid understanding of the needs of diverse learners and systems of prevention and intervention to support learner needs;

 

Experience in promoting an environment supportive of students’ and staff social and emotional well-being as well as one which is equitable and culturally responsive;

 

Knowledge of the NYS Learning Standards; research-based practice for instructional design & delivery; and assessment systems for student learning;

 

Demonstrated skills in data collection, analysis, and interpretation to inform critical decisions at the school level required;

 

Solid understanding of School Law especially as related to student discipline including Dignity for All Students.

 

Monitor and support student behavior, discipline and attendance.

 

Assist with staff evaluations, hiring and mentoring to ensure high quality instruction and professional growth.

 

Strong interpersonal skills and effective oral and written communication skills, required;

 

A proven record of developing positive relationships among students, families, and school staff.   

 

Salary Range:            Commensurate with experience (WAA Contract)

 

Reports to:                 Building Principal / Asst. Supt. of Curriculum and Instruction.

Teaching Substitutes

Position: Substitute Instructional Staff

Job Description:

  • Substitute Teacher (per diem substitutes both certified and non-certified positions) Responsible for providing instruction and managing classroom environments in the absence of the regular teacher.  SED fingerprint clearance will be required prior to hire.
  • Substitute Teaching Assistants (per diem substitutes both certified and non-certified positions) Responsible for assisting the classroom teacher with classroom management and instruction. May provide services to a student on a one-to-one basis. The position may include toileting. SED fingerprint clearance will be required prior to hire.

Pay Scale

  • Certified Teacher Sub = $138 per diem
  • Certified Retired WTA Teacher Sub = $155 per diem
  • Non-Certified Teacher Sub = $120 per diem
  • Teaching Assistant Sub = $17 per hour

Non-Teaching Substitutes

Position:   Non-Instructional Substitutes

Description: Washingtonville CSD is looking for non-instructional personnel to work on a per diem basis.  All positions require the applicant to have fingerprint clearance and a High School Diploma.  

  • Substitute Food Service Workers - 3.75 hours a day @ $16.25 per hour
  • Substitute Clerical Workers 7.5 hour shift @  $18.25 per hour
  • Substitute Monitors - 3-hour recess monitor, up to 7-hour hall monitor, bus monitor split shift @ $16.25 per hour
  • Substitute Custodians - 8-hour shift @ $17.55 per hour
